If you are attending the practice please ensure to wear a mask, as our practice is a healthcare setting.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, please take an antigen test before attending the practice.

If your test is positive we can offer a telephone consultation as an alternative.

Doctor Visit Card Applications

​

As you may be aware, the government recently announced the expansion of free GP care to all children under the age of 8. Eligible current practice patients can apply in the coming months as follows:

· If your child is aged 6 or 7, you can apply online for a Doctor Visit Card from 11th August 2023.

Optional: Please note that all patients applying for a new Doctor Visit Card are asked to apply to the below GP in the practice. This will not affect your choice of GP to attend but will help us to manage our patient lists effectively.

About Murphy Medical

Murphy Medical is a GP surgery located just outside Roscrea. The practice was started by Dr. Charles A Murphy with his wife Maureen in 1976 and located at Main Street, Roscrea. We moved to Mount Heaton in 1978.

 

We offer a wide variety of medical services to medical card and private patients including antenatal and postnatal care, women's health, childhood vaccinations, sports medicine and regular check-ups. We also provide clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, asthma and COPD.

Our surgery is wheelchair accessible and parking is available directly outside the surgery.

Upon arrival, please call reception and we will check you in. You should remain in your car until you are called in by the Doctor/Nurse.

If you need urgent medical attention, please call us on 0505 21763, as emails may not be read immediately.

Clinical queries should never be submitted via email, text or any of the forms on this website as they may not be addressed in a timely manner.
